Santos, a former Brazilian professional who was a favorite to win the Open Event, fell 4-1 to Rodrigues Morreira in the quarterfinals.

Former US National Snooker Champion Ajeya Prabhakar advanced to the quarterfinals after winning his Group and defeating Canadian Jason Williams 4-3 in the round of 16.

However, he lost 4-3 to Canadian John Brooks in the quarterfinals on the final colors in the final frame.
