Ahmed Aly Elsayed Secures Record Breaking Sixth U.S. Title

Ahmed Aly Elsayed - Sixth US Title

Ahmed Aly Elsayed won his sixth National Snooker Championship title in the United States with a 5-0 victory over Ajeya Prabhakar in the final at the New York Athletic Club.

The previous championship had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so Aly had to wait an extra year to break the record of most number of titles, which he shared with Tom Kollins.
Throughout the tournament, Aly, who was the number one seed from Brooklyn, was relatively untroubled, only losing three frames in six matches.

He defeated Prabhakar in two previous Championship finals and took the trophy again with a break of 57 in the first frame.

In the final, Aly capitalized on mistakes from Prabhakar and secured victory with an excellent break of 76.
The Billiard Room manager at the NYAC, Aly expressed his joy at winning in front of his family and at his “second home.”

The Executive Director of the United States Snooker Association, Alan Morris, praised Aly for his outstanding performance and congratulated him on his sixth title.

He also thanked the NYAC for hosting the tournament and the players from across the US for making the event a success.
